Singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist native to Northern California.
Everyone can relate and resonate with Car's genuine poetic lyrics that incorporate diverse topics of life. Across The Grain is proud to perform Carl's original music with a bluesy rootsy jive.
When Carl isn't working or writing music, he enjoys hanging out with his dogs Bella (German Shepherd) and Kona (Rottweiler), fishing with his two sons and spending time with his lovely wife Heidi.
Carl is a longtime member and performer of the Shasta Blues Society, Carl Anberg Trio and the five piece band Across The Grain.
Scott Ciucci
"Chooch" as we all know him, has been a mainstay of the local Northern California music scene for over 25 years. Scott is a sought after independent musician now serving as a session percussionist for regional artists .
Scott has been in many great Norther California bands including Majical, Tommy Twang, Shasta Blues Review and member of the Carl Anberg Trio and Across The Grain. He is continually searching for new sonic directions for Across The Grain and generates positive vibes with every beat!
Scott enjoys traveling with his wife Janet and you may find him on the river or lake fishing, working in his garden or hosting a garage jam!
Martha Hannaford
Growing up in the California Old Time Fiddlers word, Martha has been ripping hoedowns since childhood.
Fiddling is a family tradition that was passed down to her from her great grandfather. Martha gives credit to her mother and grandmother for introducing her to hundreds of traditional and spiritual standards that provide her musical base.
A talented multi instrumentalist and vocalist, Martha provides sweet vocal harmonies and violin accompaniment for Across The Grain and can belt out a tune with the best of them.
Mark Grant
Mark has played bass for many bands over the years, but Across The Grain is proud to call him their own. His enthusiastic approach and love for the tune is sure to be felt at any performance... and so contagious you might just find yourself cranking it up and dancing!
Mark is an accomplished glassblower, craftsman and gardener. He and his wife Mary are longtime residents of Shasta County, California and supporters of LIVE music.
Mark has been a solid performer been in many past projects, such as Boys Night Out, Home Grown Blues and longtime performer and member of the Shasta Blues Society, Carl Anberg Trio and now Across The Grain.
Morgan Hannaford
Native to Napa, CA but Northern bound, Morgan is a solid multi-instrumentalist and music producer. He has had the privilege of producing some of Redding, CA finest original albums that can be heard on National Public Radio.
Morgan's love for music extends to many genres that inspires his instrumental diversity.
Morgan is dedicated to enriching and assisting other artists.
